FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How ReactorCX publishes, processes, and routes real-time loyalty events for enterprise engagement.

Event streaming lets loyalty program activity flow in real time to downstream systems for personalization, segmentation, customer service, marketing, and analytics - without depending on batch reconciliation cycles. ReactorCX is API-first and event-native, with event-based processing powering many of the platform's interactive features.

ReactorCX events are organized into two levels: Replication Events (Level 1, CUD) that keep external systems in sync near-realtime, and Business Events (Level 2) that respond to specific loyalty conditions such as milestone achievements, tier changes, reward issuance, and referral completion.

ReactorCX processes loyalty transactions as they happen, with immediate balance updates and reward issuance. Real-time event publishing means enterprise systems can respond to a member's interaction with the program the moment it occurs - through timely updates, reminders, and automated workflows.

This is supported by the platform-wide <200ms API response SLA, maintained across 2.6 billion transactions annually and 25 million+ real-time API requests per day in the largest single retail enterprise deployment.

Level 1 (Replication Events) provides Create, Update, and Delete events at the object level, useful to keep external systems in sync near-realtime.

Level 2 (Business Events) fires on specific loyalty actions such as point earning, tier changes, reward issuance, and referral completion, useful for responding to specific conditions 1:1. Downstream systems can subscribe to one or both levels depending on whether the use case calls for state replication, action-specific triggers, or both.

ReactorCX Replication Events are Create, Update, and Delete (CUD) events at the object level, useful to keep external systems in sync near-realtime. The three Level 1 event types are ObjectInsertEvent, ObjectUpdateEvent, and ObjectDeleteEvent.

Downstream systems consuming these events maintain an up-to-date mirror of loyalty platform state without polling - eliminating the latency and load of repeated API calls to check for state changes.

ReactorCX Business Events are Level 2 events that fire on specific loyalty actions, useful for responding to specific conditions 1:1 - such as milestone achievements, triggered email, and partner notifications. Event types include:

  • AddPointsEvent, RedeemPointsEvent
  • SetTierEvent, EnrollmentEvent
  • AddRewardEvent, UseRewardEvent, RewardReversalEvent
  • AddBadgeEvent, ExpirationWarningEvent, TierExpirationWarningEvent
  • GenerateReferralEvent, CompleteReferralEvent
  • AccrualExpiryEvent, AccrualEscrowEvent

Business Events let enterprise marketing, customer service, and partner systems trigger workflows precisely on the loyalty actions that matter to them - not on every state change, only the ones that require a downstream response.

Level 2 events are purpose-built for action: the right signal, for the right system, at the right moment.

Yes. ReactorCX supports Complex Event Processing to analyze and respond to complex patterns in customer behavior in real time. Pattern detection runs through the same real-time rules engine that handles single-event transactions, so analytical patterns and the rules that respond to them stay consistent with the rest of the program.

This supports multi-event promotions, streak and challenge progression, and qualification logic that spans multiple channels and time windows - all evaluated and responded to in real time, not after a batch run.

ReactorCX provides comprehensive APIs and SDKs for easy integration with existing enterprise systems and applications:

  • Event API - publishes loyalty and engagement events as they occur
  • Streaming Ingestion endpoint - accepts inbound event streams for near-real-time processing
  • REST APIs - support synchronous reads and writes for enrollment, balance queries, eligibility checks, and member servicing

All capabilities operate through the same API surface that powers the ReactorCX user interface - meaning the integration layer is the same one the platform itself uses, not a secondary export path.

ReactorCX integrates with well-established streaming technologies, including cloud streaming offerings from Azure, AWS, and GCP, and on-prem deployments of distributed brokers such as Apache Kafka, Pulsar, and others.

Enterprise teams can use streaming infrastructure they already operate - so ReactorCX events flow through the same observability, security, and routing layers the rest of the enterprise's event traffic already uses.

ReactorCX is compatible with various operating systems and cloud platforms, supporting integration from any enterprise environment that can call a REST API or consume an event stream. Streaming technology support spans the major cloud vendors - Azure, AWS, and GCP - and on-prem distributed brokers such as Apache Kafka and Pulsar.

ReactorCX events enable enterprise systems to respond to member interaction with the program through timely updates, reminders, and automated workflows. Downstream systems subscribe to:

  • Replication Events for state synchronization across external systems
  • Business Events for action-specific triggers such as triggered email on milestone achievements, partner notifications on referral completion, or customer service alerts on reward reversals

The subscription model and event scope are controlled through the same API surface that powers the rest of the platform - no separate workflow configuration layer required.

ReactorCX event streaming operates at enterprise scale:

  • Peak API throughput of 56,000+ events per minute in a single hospitality program
  • 25 million+ real-time API requests per day in the largest single retail enterprise deployment
  • Platform-wide <200ms API response SLA

Across all client deployments, Loyalty Methods has integrated ReactorCX across 30,000+ locations - with event streaming running consistently at the same SLA regardless of channel, geography, or program complexity.

ReactorCX event streaming honors the privacy mode chosen by each program. ReactorCX supports two modes: storing PII inside the platform with full data subject rights support (access, deletion, rectification, restriction of processing, portability), or operating with tokenized identifiers where PII is stored externally in a client-controlled system.

Events carry identifiers and attributes consistent with whichever model the program operates. MGM Resorts operates ReactorCX with membership numbers only - no PII stored in the loyalty platform.

ReactorCX event streaming runs within the broader SOC 2 Type II certified ReactorCX platform, with encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest (AES-256), role-based and attribute-based access controls, and audit logs across access, system activity, configuration changes, and member and transaction activity.

Event subscription scope is controlled by the same access framework that governs API access - so downstream subscribers receive only the events their role and attributes authorize them to consume.
